The Monoc Nib
Delivery- The nibs will be made to order. There are a fixed number of Monoc nibs manufactured each month. To keep things simple, we will sell them on a first come first served basis with clearly designated monthly ship dates during purchasing. All nibs ship by the end of the month they are ordered in.
Nib Sizing- The nibs will be debuted in one tip size. New nib tip sizes and writing options are in development and will be available later in 2023. The current offering is a “medium/broad” nib with an approximated .5mm stroke width on Rhodia paper using Sailor fountain pen ink. Stroke width will vary slightly nib to nib as they are handmade and this width is very dependent on paper and ink choice.
Nib Logo Color- There are 3 color options for the Monoc Nib logo; Polished Titanium, Blue, and Rainbow.
Feed Material Color- Feeds are available in either Natural Ultem or Black Ultem.
Pen Options - The Monoc Nib comes in a Full Sized Matte Black Anodized Aluminum Pen. If you would like to purchase a different Schon DSGN pen to house your Monoc nib, use the discount code “no black pen” during checkout and receive $100 off your order when purchasing any Schon DSGN Fountain Pen at the same time as your Monoc Nib. Your Monoc Nib will be installed into that pen and you will not receive the black pen when using this discount code. The pen must be purchased at the same time as the Monoc Nib. Currently the Monoc Nib is only available with a pen purchase and will not be sold as a standalone item.
Pen Shows- We have allocated a small number of Monoc Nibs to be released at each pen show we attend with unique finishing on each nib. These pens will be more expensive than our online prices as our aim here is to prioritize Monoc Nibs that are ordered online, since these are helping us create a steady flow of work for our company. The Monoc nibs will be available for testing at shows if you would like to try one before you place an order. We will be at the Philadelphia, Baltimore, LA, SF, Chicago and DC shows.

Our Monoc Nib was designed, engineered and manufactured in its entirety in our Philadelphia workshop, putting us among a very small number of companies globally who have achieved this feat in-house.
Full Integration
The titanium Monoc Nib, along with a precision machined Ultem feed, were designed in tandem and made within tight tolerances to ensure a quality flow of ink and careful management of air.
Machined Titanium
Our integrated nib tip allows for closer control of the geometry of the tip and writing surface in manufacturing, while the titanium offers a soft graphite-like quality that is a great writing experience.
Compatibility
The Monoc Nib is compatible with all of our pocket and full sized fountain pens that also take a Jowo #6 nib. It also features an o-ring to keep the nib snug in the section.
